Sneak Peak - {K} Family

So I am finally getting to try out my new blog design...and I love it!  I still have a few items to add and change around but that will be done when I get more time.  I was so excited to have this family back...I hadn't seen them since the littlest ones 1st birthday so I was surprised how much he had grown....and he definately got a lot more hair! You may remember him from this post.
And what a perfect family they are! There is just something about little boys that catches my eyes...probably because I have two girls, but boy were these two handsome!

And the last time I saw the oldest boy {L} he wanted nothing to do with taking pictures, luckily that had changed this year and we were lucky enough to get a ton of great pictures!

 I just adore this black and white....

 And then there was {P}....he was all smiles and did so well.  Sometimes this age is so busy but this was a breeze!

Thanks {K} family for choosing me for you family photos....I can't wait for you to see the rest and I can't wait to watch your boys grow.  I really think it is fun when someone has two boys as I have two girls, boys are definately a lot of fun too!

{2012 Red Lake County Central Senior} Olson

We had such a beautiful day to capture this gorgeous girls senior pictures...and we also had some fun spots picked out! I just love it when people offer up some new spots ;) This is definately picture heavy but I think it is worth it...how could I just pick a couple?
Look at these eyes!!

And yes...this tree stump was this big...



And she loves volleyball...I have been lucky enough to watch her play, and wow...is she awesome!

Sneak Peak - {J} turns 2 & little brother {E} 3 mo.

I was so excited when I found out this family was going to have an addition....not only because they are a great family but because they are so darn cute. And those eyes....what more do I need to say!! We got to celebrate a few things this session..."Big" brother {J} was turning 2 and little bro {E} was turning 3 months. And let me tell you, can little {E} was so strong and let us capture some pretty cute photos. He would just sit there and stair....a photographer's dream :)

Hasn't he changed from his first year photos!! But those eyes sure haven't.

They had to bring along their gorgeous older sister for a group shot.

Black and White Wednesday - Coming Soon....

I have been so busy lately with activities for my own kids and photo sessions that I have been slacking on my blog....but I couldn't help but add these two to the lineup of Black and White Wednesday on Lisa's Blog!! But I do promise you will be seeing lots of posts soon ;)
I, once again, got to capture my best friends girls...and they were lucky enough to add another little girl to the mixture. Miss {A} was so smiley and so much fun to capture...I just love her whole session!

Black & White Wednesday - Time for my own

I have been pretty swamped around here lately with session...I am loving it but I needed to make time for my own girls. It was a beautiful night last night so thought it was time to take my own out for some pictures. Taya and Kya are always beyond willing but Kya just wasn't interested. I was happy I got her to join in and can't wait to show you the rest of this session hopefully soon!
I just can not believe how grown up Taya is getting...she says she is going to be a farmer and a photographer when she gets older. I always ask her how that is going to work as your busiest times for farming is spring and fall...same with photography:) I love it though.

And then there is Kya...she too has gotten so mature. We have been super busy at the school lately with preparing for Kindergarten. She is beyond excited to go everyday (I wonder is she will be saying that when she is 16!!) She wants to be a vet or a surfer girl when she gets older...hmmm....wonder how the whole surfer girl thing will go growing up in Northern Minnesota ;) But the girl loves to dream so you never know!! I wouldn't mind getting to visit her somewhere warm...but then again I would love for her to just live right next to me forever....Taya already has plans for that!

What a little model....she just does her own thing.....LOVE THESE TWO MORE THAN ANYTHING!! I definately have been holding my husband and family closer this week as one of Nick's cousin passed on suddenly after his Boston marathon qualifying run....35 years young and leaves behind a great wife and 3 wonderful kids. They are constantly in my thoughts and prayers along with his parents. He was always such a happy go lucky guy and I can just picture his smile. He grew up only a block from me so we knew his family very well. Life can end at any time and I need to make more time to enjoy my family. So happy camping is finally upon us to enjoy those weekends with them.

Black and White Wednesday - Love My Job!!

I don't know if it is just me, or if I just love my job that much, but one of my favorite things about photography is simplicity. I happen to enjoy it when kids are not cooperating perfectly. From a parent stand-point, it is so frustrating but on the other side of the lens, it is perfection to me! Kids being kids! And it seems, that is when I notice the little dimples, wrinkly hands and funny faces kids make.
So this week I decided to show a side of my sessions I usually don't post but end up liking the most!
I just love the little wrinkles on her wrists, pebbles ponytail and just the length of her hair. I also like how she is just enjoying playing with the barbie car, something that comes and goes so quickly in life. And the way she is pushing it ;)

Black and White Wednesday - Pre-Sneak Peak - {M} Family

Just a quick post for Black and White Wednesday...I have been missing far too many of these!! And had the best session to add to it this last weekend. Of course they are my style of black and white but who can resist taking these with children. And this session show why I like it even more...this group of siblings definately has their own features, what a great memory.
I had to work to get some smiles out of Mr. B...but what a great smile he has!!

And gorgeous E....well, she was so quite (I am sure mom is laughing at that right now if she is anything like my girls...only quite around other people)

And last, but not least...Little T...she was turning the big one...and just hammed it up for the camera!

Black and White Wednesday - Couldn't resist....

I just couldn't resist adding more pictures of this little one....EVERY.SINGLE.ONE. of these pictures she has the most beautiful eyes for a baby just 8 days new!! And I couldn't help but add them in black and white.

And there is just something so adorable about ten little fingers and ten little toes...the wrinkles say fresh to me...

And I just HAD to add one in color...because you can see her baby fine, blonde lashes ;)

Black and White Wednesday - "My Valentines"

I was running a little behind, wait I mean very behind this year for valentines. In fact I had promised Taya that we would do picture wallet valentines this year so she kept asking me every weekend when we would take the pictures for them. Well this past weekend came and went in the blink of an eye and I can't even say I did much of anything productive!! So Monday night I realized that Kya had to have her valentines all ready by Thursday...so off to setting up the background we went after supper.
I let Taya pick out the picture she wanted in black and white or color and this is what she picked for both girls....enjoy! I realize I need to take WAY more pictures of my own girls...I love them so much!
Taya is getting so big and is the best model...she will take pictures forever for me ;)

And there's Kya...what a hoot! I can't wait to show her session with all the different facial expressions she used. That is a post of it's own.

Black and White Wednesday - Finally Back ;)

So....I am finally back!! I have been missing in action a lot lately with staying busy with my girls' dance practice and starting my new venture of being a Thirty-One consultant. What a fun venture this will be ;) If you get a chance check out my website here...I just love all their products!
I wanted to post one of my favorite black and white images from some of my last sessions. I just keep going back to this and can't help but look at the innocent of this beautiful baby girl's eyes. They are so stunning!

Black and White Wednesday - "Profile"

There is just something about the profile shot...I take one, two, o.k. maybe five at every session I do. There is just that innocense of it and it just reminds me of their little features they have. It usually is when children are just being themselves which in studio shots is definately harder to capture!
Once again, little man {P} gets to be on the blog...love his little profile!

Black and White Wednesday - "Happy 1st Birthday"

Happy Birthday mini bubba!!! I am so blessed to have family live so close to us...this is the brother of last weeks black and white wednesday and the same little guy as this post a few posts back. You know, as parents you don't always notice the change babies make in 3 short months but I can't believe the change in K...he looks so much older now!! And he has managed to start walking and exploring everything in those short 3 months. Without further ado......K. Hope you have the best birthday little guy!! We love you!

And I finally got to do a cake smash!! It was so much fun and can't wait until I can do it again!

Black and White Wednesday - Happy

I was taking pictures of our nephew K for his 1 year birthday coming up at the end of October when we decided to take a few pictures of the older kids. I was sitting editing them last night when Nick walked in and said that is so A!!! I love this picture because when she is at the age of cheesy smiles but this is so natural and perfect!!



And here is the black and white version....I just love what the texture added to it!

Black and White Wednesday-Beautiful Senior {2011}

I got to meet up with B again to capture the rest of her senior portraits...this time we were searching for all the fun locations...and if you have ever been to Northern Minnesota, you know that sometimes you have to really search! But I think we found them...and right in her back yard!

And I just had to add this one because it captured her true personality! Her cats wanted to be in the pictures so badly and she would just move them around so they weren't showing in ALL of them...well I loved them hiding in there! (look under her arm!)

Black and Wednesday & Sneak Peak - The {E} Family

What a fun, fun family!! I have known their mom since I was little as she was a couple years older than me in school. N is the same age as my oldest and what a difference from girl to boy....he was so much fun and LOVES to fish so I got to capture him doing what he loves most...fishing! I can't wait to edit all these pictures. And beautiful H was gorgeous with her viola....
